At Infatica, we are committed to providing the highest level of security for our users. To further protect your account, we are glad to introduce two-factor authentication (2FA). This article will guide you through the benefits of 2FA, how to enable it on your Infatica account, and answer any questions you may have about this new feature. By following this step-by-step guide, you will learn how to enhance your account security and ensure that your personal information remains safe.

How to enable 2FA?

Navigate to your account’s Security Settings area. In the Two-Factor Authentication section below, press the Click here to enable button:

Next, press the Get started button. Infatica’s 2FA method uses time-based tokens, which are short numeric codes that you need to input every time you log in to your account. To get a time-based token and link your Infatica account, you can use apps like Google Authenticator or Duo.

In the Connect your app window, you’ll get two options of linking your Infatica account to a 2FA app:

  • Scanning a QR code or
  • Inputting the code manually.

Open your authenticator app and use any of the methods above. In Google Authenticator, for instance, you can press the + button:

The authenticator app will generate a short number code (e.g. 123 456). Type it in the
Enter authentication code field and press Submit:

Last but not least, write the backup code down. If you cannot complete 2FA (if you lost your phone with the authenticator app, for instance), it will help regain access to your Infatica account.

That's it – you've enabled 2FA. Enjoy using Infatica more safely!

Frequently Asked Questions

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security used to ensure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. First, a user will enter their username and a password. Then, instead of immediately gaining access, they will be required to provide another piece of information, such as a code sent to their phone.

2FA adds an additional layer of security to your account by requiring a second form of verification beyond just your password. This makes it much harder for unauthorized users to gain access, even if they have your password.

To enable 2FA, go to your account settings, find the security settings, and follow the instructions to set up two-factor authentication. You will need your mobile device to complete the setup process.

Our 2FA system uses time-based tokens, which you can get via apps like Google Authenticator or Duo.

If you lose access to your second factor, you can use backup codes provided during the 2FA setup process. If you do not have backup codes, contact our support team for assistance with account recovery

Currently, 2FA is optional but highly recommended to ensure the highest level of security for your account.

No, enabling and using 2FA on your Infatica account is free of charge.

If you encounter any issues with setting up or using 2FA, please contact our support team.
